Training for a marathon is one of the biggest sacrifices you can make as an amateur athlete. I have been “relaxing” for 10 years without needing to continue my marathon career. It seemed like I had already settled for the 12 I had run previously.
This feeling changed about a year ago
I thought about taking part in a race again. I have turkey whatsapp number data to take these thoughts with a grain of salt. Running a marathon for me does not mean running it and finishing it. My mind needs to compete, although in a marathon you compete above all with yourself. My magic time is three hours. I have already beaten it on a few occasions, although I cannot tell you how many times now. It is a pace of 4:13-4:14 min/km, which today seems crazy to me. “Today” is 10 years after finishing my last race in Murcia, which I do not hold with fond memories.
I made the decision 3-4 weeks ago
Now I still have to sign up for the race. I have Vollständiger Unterricht in Design Thinking already gone from running only on the weekend to 3-4 sessions. I am not yet in preparation mode because I have to gradually increase my level to get into the physical shape that will allow me to “survive” the training plan I have planned for it. Right now my goal is to reach the 35 km distance that will be a pillar of my marathon preparation plan in the final stretch of the last 8 weeks. In terms of distance I have now reached 25 km last week and I can still feel it in my legs resource data three days later after having also done a light 11 km run yesterday. Since today is a holiday and if my left foot, which was not quite right yesterday, allows me to, I will do one more lap but without forcing it. Now it is not a question of training hard but of getting used to the weekly volume again and gradually increasing the pace.
I haven’t talked about the “why” yet
In short, I would say “because I feel like it.” Also because it is a challenge and because I want to see if I can match my old times. I want to experience a marathon from start to finish once again. I will repeat Cologne because it is close to me and in terms of atmosphere it is one of the best races I have ever run. It was one of my worst races in terms of time and sensations. This time it will be different. Or so I like to think.
